It's only 10 am and you've got me thinking about dinner! To answer your question, "Is a salad enough to fill you up as a meal?" Absolutely, it just takes a little creative thinking like your wonderful idea to turn an ordinary salad into something really special. TJ's mango chicken sausage definitely rocks! And the salad that Steph mentioned above sure sounds like a great idea that would fill most people up! Regarding the 2008 Château Fage - what a terrific everyday, food - friendly white wine as you discovered. Great review and I really liked that you described how completely opposite in taste this style of white is compared to a typical CA. Chard. Most white Bordeaux's don't go through malolactic fermentation which in most cases, is what gives a CA. Chard that over the top buttery and oaky flavor. So, if those characteristics are a turn off to you, then white Bordeaux is a great alternative.

Btw - Happy Birthday and have a great trip!

Salads are so enough for a meal! I had a salad last night with mixed herbs, baby greens, sauteed veggies (cabbage, carrots, broccoli, zucchini) and topped with marinated ~octopus~! It was awesome. I try to make salad one of my meals every day <3

Love salads and this time of year because I start craving them and get creative again! Onions, tomatoes and mushrooms are a must for me on my salads--if I have fresh peas and peppers-even better!

love the white bordeaux. never had a white bordeaux, but the one you tried sounds like a fabulous summer wine that I would really enjoy. Also, I like the addition of the mango chicken sausage in your salad. I cook with a lot of chicken sausage (all freshly made from the butcher around the corner) and sounds like a great idea to include in in a salad.
